The Upper Deschutes Watershed Council seeks to protect and restore the watersheds of the upper Deschutes River through collaborative projects in habitat restoration, long-term monitoring, and watershed education. We envision a healthy watershed that supports a balance of clean and abundant water, fisheries, wildlife habitat, and strong communities. A healthy watershed reflects the social, economic, and environmental well-being of the region and its people.
The Upper Deschutes Watershed Council became a 501(c)3 organization in 1997 and is a locally organized, non-regulatory, collaborative organization working with those that want to voluntarily protect and restore our local watershed. As a conservation organization committed to protecting and restoring our rivers and streams through collaborative efforts in on-the-ground restoration, education, and monitoring, we seek to work with community members of all ages, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds to care for our watersheds for current and future generations.
