For more than 35 years, Assistance League® of Bend has been a source of comfort, dignity, and hope for local children and adults facing the hardships of poverty and cancer. Every person who gives, volunteers, or supports our mission helps change lives right here in Central Oregon. With no paid staff, your donations stay local — easing burdens and making a real difference in our community. Your generosity fuels programs such as:
Operation School Bell® is our signature program, providing new clothing, shoes, and books to school-age children in need. Last year alone, we helped more than 2,800 K–12 students in Deschutes County start the school year with confidence and pride. For children entering foster care, we provide emergency clothing bundles to ensure they have comfort and essentials during times of transition. We also host an annual holiday celebration for foster children and their families
Cinderella’s Closet is a “boutique” that offers high school students free formal wear and accessories to borrow so they can participate fully in milestone events like prom.
These Kids are Cookin’ offers a four-week cooking and nutrition class to low-income students in Title 1-A schools in grades 4 and 5.
Senior Caring provides personal care items and holiday gifts to low-income seniors living in local assisted living and memory care facilities.
